Enrique Rafael Hurtado de Mendoza Godínez
Enrique Rafael Hurtado de Mendoza Godínez (LDE ’06), better known as Kike, is a native of Mexicali, Baja California. He majored in Law and is proud to be an UDEM graduate.
He has pursued graduate-level programs in Tax Law, and in commercial agreements, obligations, and corporations. He has had the opportunity of working in the Federal Judiciary Branch, a part of the public sector, and in the private sector, as an associate in an important tax law firm in the city of Guadalajara and Nuevo Vallarta.
However, he decided to turn his life around by changing his career path from Law to Business, becoming a successful entrepreneur in the tequila industry.
At present, he is the director of Casa Hurtado de Mendoza, a company dedicated to the production and marketing of the brand Charro Bravo Gran Tequila, a product that is unique in the market for its Ultra-Premium category and organic certification.
Additionally, he is a strategic and commercial partner of wine company Viñas de la Erre, which also produces very high-quality table wine.
It is important to point out that this whole project has as its main vision, mission, and value the rescue of Mexicanity as an identity, positioning it worldwide as a culture full of flavors, colors, magic, and art which we have proudly contributed to humanity,” Kike told us when talking about his company.
As he was telling us how Charro Bravo Gran Tequila sets itself apart in such a competitive market, Kike mentioned that it is a product that is not only certified organic by the US Department of Agriculture and the European Community but it is also certified Kosher for consumption in the Jewish community.
“On the other hand, something I consider to be of the utmost importance and I even regard as one of the reasons that Charro Bravo came into existence is that from the very beginning this project has been infused with great love, passion, and illusion to create a product I can be proud of and satisfied by creating it,” commented Kike about his brand.
Fortunately, the product has won several medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Likewise, his company has participated in important national events, like exclusive tequila of the Fashion Cocktail 2014 event, where they participated with other international premium brands.
The upcoming steps for Kike and Casa Hurtado de Mendoza are continuing to search for new markets, developing new high-quality Mexican products than can be launched into the national and international market, and participating again in the international competitions held in San Francisco and Belgium.
Kike concludes, “what makes me most proud as an ExaUDEM is that that people in the work and education spheres acknowledge that I graduated from a highly prestigious university and congratulate me on it.”
