To prepare specialist physicians in Cardiology with an academic background that includes knowledge of basic sciences, clinical skills, and fundamentals of Internal Medicine; capable of diagnosing and resolving cardiovascular conditions, skillfully utilizing cutting-edge technology in Cardiology techniques, enabling them to practice with the highest standards of patient care and safety; coordinating with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Graduate profile

Upon completion of your studies in Cardiology, you will have developed the following knowledge:

Demonstrate deep knowledge of the anatomical, physiological, biochemical, microbiological, immunological, and pharmacological bases, as well as the natural history of congenital and acquired cardiovascular diseases, their pathophysiological mechanisms, anatomopathological lesions, and methods for primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention.
Apply knowledge of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures from medical history to invasive and non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic studies, including their indication, utility, risks, and complications.
Conduct preventive actions, self-care, comprehensive medical diagnosis, and treatment including cardiovascular rehabilitation using current technological resources available for comprehensive care of acute and chronic heart and circulatory system diseases.
Employ current national and international regulations related to discipline and quality healthcare with an emphasis on patient safety.
Demonstrate theoretical aspects of the teaching-learning process applied to patient, family, and multidisciplinary healthcare team training related to their discipline.
Promote healthy lifestyle habits, identifying risk factors considering intercultural elements.
Apply knowledge of information and communication technologies in their daily practice.
