Objective

To prepare qualified medical specialists at an excellent level for the management of high-risk pregnancies, experts in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of pathologies affecting the mother and fetus, with the support of technology enabling them to offer the highest standards of care and coordination with a multidisciplinary team within a framework of humanism, ethics, professionalism, and deep respect for the environment; using scientific research as a habitual tool in their daily practice and committed to the continuous updating of their discipline.

Admission profile

Knowledge

Possess scientific foundations in medicine, particularly in Gynecology and Obstetrics.
Evaluation of patients with surgical pathology.
Have extensive knowledge of scientific methodology and the epidemiological method.
Understanding and translation of the English language.

Managing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in gynecology and obstetrics.
Teamwork.
Having basic internet management skills.
Basic proficiency in different computer packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Graduate profile

Upon completion of your studies in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, you will have developed the following knowledge:

Having a deep understanding of the most common pathologies, immediate neonatal period complications, and metabolic diseases of the newborn.
Selecting, analyzing, and evaluating medical literature related to maternal fetal medicine, applying it relevantly to their daily work to support, deepen, and expand their professional actions.
Understanding the physical bases of ultrasound and the different existing equipment.
Consulting, selecting, analyzing, and evaluating medical literature in their specialty, applying it relevantly to their daily work to support, deepen, and expand their professional actions.
Knowing the different stages of human development and fetal period, as well as the different structural abnormalities that occur.
