Since September 8, 2015, Carlos Ponce Beltrán (LDE ’83) has been the Assistant Attorney General for Telecommunications with PROFECO, Mexico’s Federal Consumer Protection Agency. This responsibility, which was bestowed upon him by then Federal Consumer Attorney General, Lorena Martínez, with authorization from the Secretary of Economy, Dr. Ildefonso Guajardo, has represented an important opportunity to lay the foundations of specialty and integrality in the promotion and defense of the rights of consumers of telecommunications goods, products, and services.

David Quiroga Galván

"It has always been my dream to be a race driver,” David Quiroga (LDE '12) told us, “I had been trying to get an opportunity to break into the sport for about 10 years. The calls for applications to the Nissan GT Academy opened in Mexico in 2014 for the first time and it was my brother Andrés who insisted that I should try.”

He managed to get to the last stage of the national final, among more than 28,200 Mexican candidates. Unfortunately, he did not crown as champion and thus did not go to the international final.

Andrés Clariond Rangel (LDE ’02) majored in Law at UDEM and his passion for cinema led him to venture into one of the most inaccessible industries in Mexico and present HILDA, his first feature film.

“I majored in Law because I was interested in the humanities and public life, but I always had creative and literary inclinations. When I was in the first semesters of my undergraduate degree program, the Monterrey Cineteca (film archive projection room) opened. There, I met filmmakers from Mexico City and I realized that working in filmmaking was not so far-fetched,” said Andrés.

Enrique Rafael Hurtado de Mendoza Godínez

Enrique Rafael Hurtado de Mendoza Godínez (LDE ’06), better known as Kike, is a native of Mexicali, Baja California. He majored in Law and is proud to be an UDEM graduate.

He has pursued graduate-level programs in Tax Law, and in commercial agreements, obligations, and corporations. He has had the opportunity of working in the Federal Judiciary Branch, a part of the public sector, and in the private sector, as an associate in an important tax law firm in the city of Guadalajara and Nuevo Vallarta.
