Description

The specialist in Medical Oncology, through medical practice based on problem-solving educational methodology, is characterized by being trained to provide quality professional care to the community in any national and international setting. They will be highly competent in their specific area of practice. 

The duration of the Specialty in Medical Oncology is 3 years.

Required Academic Background: 2 years of specialization in Internal Medicine.

Recognition of Official Validity of Studies (RVOE): Granted by the Secretary of Public Education under agreement: 20221084, valid until 03/14/2027.

Objective

To prepare specialists in Medical Oncology with academic training including knowledge of basic and clinical sciences, as well as fundamentals of internal medicine. They should have the ability to diagnose and treat neoplastic diseases, emphasizing warm and empathetic patient care to improve quality of life. Additionally, the specialist will skillfully apply therapeutic advances and utilize cutting-edge oncological technology, ensuring a professional practice that meets the highest standards of patient care and safety within a multidisciplinary health team.
