Graduate profile

Upon completion of this specialty, you will have acquired the following knowledge:

  • Demonstrate deep knowledge in the analysis, restructuring, and improvement of medical and surgical care processes at any of the three levels of care, including outpatient, inpatient, and emergency settings, which affect the physical, mental, and social health of individuals.
  • Recognize diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in various areas of clinical units, from medical history to invasive and non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic studies, as well as their indication, usefulness, risks, and complications.
  • Demonstrate understanding of quality, safety, sustainability, and standardization of clinical processes integrated under the framework of evidence-based medicine, ensuring their application from the initial patient contact to recovery in any public and private healthcare service.
  • Perform preventive actions, self-care, diagnosis, and comprehensive medical treatment with the support of current technological resources available for comprehensive healthcare in the emergency room.
  • Apply current national and international regulations related to the discipline and the provision of quality healthcare with an emphasis on patient safety.
  • Understand the theoretical aspects of the teaching-learning process applied to patient, family, and multidisciplinary healthcare team training related to their discipline.
  • Promote healthy lifestyle habits, identifying risk factors considering intercultural elements.
  • Apply knowledge of information and communication technologies to their daily practice.

  • Develop expertise in healthcare procedures to recognize inherent risks and select innovative strategies for their prevention, thereby enhancing patient safety.
  • Integrate administrative issues in patient care in a timely and organized manner to establish appropriate organizational diagnoses.
